IRR on salary increase
of WV workers out soon

The implementing rules and regulations (IRR) on the new wage increase for workers in the Western Visayas are expected to be out soon, labor leader Wennie Sancho said yesterday.

Sancho, who is the labor representative to the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Western Visayas, and secretary-general of the General Alliance of Workers Associations, said the board will meet on Wednesday to finalize the IRR on Wage Order No. 25, that will grant private sector workers in the region a salary increase ranging from P15 to P30.

He added that the wage increase will take effect tomorrow.

4-day Organic Fest
sales hit P1.30 million

The four-day gross sales of the 14th Negros Island Organic Farmers’ Festival at the provincial Capitol grounds in Bacolod City had reached P1.30 million.

In the report of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, the sales generated on the first day last November 20 was P229,996, the second day earned P350,628 in profit, revenues on third day were P337,200, and on the fourth and last day, it reached to P383,056.

The profit this year was lower than last year’s that had P1.86 million in total sales.
