DAR installs 24 farmers
BY MARCHEL P. ESPINA

The Department of Agrarian Reform-Negros Occidental 2 installed 24 farmers in Barangay Camandag, La Castellana, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.

The 24 agrarian reform beneficiaries now own the 18.4581-hectare landholding formerly owned by Jose Maria Cadungon, following the distribution of the Certificates of Land Ownership Award.

The property was covered by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reform, through the compulsory acquisition scheme.

Josephine Yap, DAR municipal agrarian reform program officer, encouraged the ARBs to be productive.

She also reminded them to exercise diligence in the use, cultivation, and maintenance of the land, and to pay real property taxes to the municipality.

She also told them not to engage in any form of illegal activities.

The LandBank of the Philippines, through its representative, Levy Villacrusis, presented its programs such as Accessible Funds for Delivery to the ARBs, and other financial aids.

“It is part of our campaign to let the farmers know that there is a government that works for its farmer beneficiaries,” Villacrusis added.*
