A golden performance in individual all around, bars, balance beam, and an silver in floor exercise earned young gymnast Gaea Francesca Suguilon of St. Scholastica’s Academy a spot in the NOPSSCEA gymnastics team that will see action in the Negros Occidental Provincial Meet next month.
Trained by her coaches from Jumpstreet Gymnastics, the nine-year-old Suguilon has improved this year after a silver finish in NOPSSCEA competition last year.
Joining her in the team are Alyssa Miyuki Chavez and Samantha Anne Hechanova of St. John’s Institute, who captured the individual all around gold and silver medals, respectively, in Cluster 2 of NOPSSCEA Season ’39 women’s artistic gymnastics.
Also to compete in the provincials are Cluster 3 winners led by gold medalist Mikaela Puentebella of St. Scholastica’s Academy, silver medalist Erica Lim of SJI, and bronze winner Genelle Chrys Quizan of Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod.
Meanwhile, Shaylo Zen Solito of University of St. La Salle won the gold in Cluster 1 floor exercise, silver medal in individual all around, balance beam and vault and bronze in bars.
Her fellow La Sallian, Chloe Cordero, settled for the bronze in individual all around, floor exercise, balance beam and vault, while Julianne Andales of CSA-B secured the silver medal in bars.
Therese Ann Sarabia of SSA completed the list of winners in Cluster 2 after settling for the bronze medal in individual all around behind Chavez and Hechanova.*
