Policeman faces rape raps in Bago
BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

A policeman is now in hot water for allegedly molesting a minor last month in Bago City, Negros Occidental.

The police non-commissioned officer was charged yesterday for statutory rape before the Bago City Prosecutor’s Office.

Col. Romeo Baleros, Negros Occidental provincial police director, yesterday ordered the immediate relief of the police officer, whose identity he has withheld, to protect the minor, since the case is sensitive.

The suspect had been temporarily assigned at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, after he was disarmed, pending investigations also by the Internal Affairs Service of the PNP.

The victim is now in the care of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.*
