La Salle, Jack N Jill karatekas
dominate NOPSSCEA karatedo


Karatekas from University of St. La Salle and their young counterparts from Jack and Jill School won two team gold medals each for their school to lead the karatedo winners in NOPSSCEA Season 39 at City Mall Mandalagan during the weekend.

The USLS college men’s karatedo team retained the overall championswhip with Isiah Aragon named the best karateka while Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod bagged the gold medal in women’s karatedo with Phoebe Kaye Bolo as best karateka.

In high school competition, USLS managed to successfully defend their title in the boys’ division while losing to Trinity Christian School in the girls’ category.

Ryan Giray and Nichole Margarette Piamonte of USLS were named best high school karatekas.

It was a sweep for Jack and Jill in elementary karatedo this year as the team won five gold medals, five silvers and six bronzes in the boys’ event and four gold medals and three silvers in the girls’ category.

Named best coaches after the tournament were Sensei Romy Lisondra (USLS), Joey Suclan (CSA-B), Coach Buclao (TCS), and Sensei Elan Delfin (JJS).
