Villar, Dar expected at Organic Fest

Senator Cynthia Villar and Agriculture Secretary William Dar are expected to headline the 14th edition of the Negros Island Organic Farmers’ Festival that will kick off Wednesday at the Provincial Capitol grounds in Bacolod City.

Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, Remelyn Recoter, Department of Agriculture-Western Visayas director, and Jennifer Chang, executive director of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements-Asia, are also expected to join Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer in the opening rites of the four-day festival.

The event, with the theme “Organic is love, integrity, fairness, and ecology”, is expected to gather industry stakeholders including farmers, producers, and exhibitors while lectures and sessions on various organic agriculture topics are also slated.

Negros Occ promotes tourist
spots in North Phil travel expo

The provincial government of Negros Occidental featured the top tourist destinations of the province in the three-day North Philippines Tourism and Travel Expo at SM City Clark in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga that ended yesterday.

Cristine Mansinares, provincial supervising tourism operations officer, said the provincial government always joins the expo every year because it sees Central Luzon as a “big tourism market”, considering that there are moredirect flights from Clark, Pampanga to Bacolod City.

She said a lot of guests are taking this flight.
