The Carlos Hilado Memorial State University in Talisay City emerged as the top performing school in the Civil Engineer Licensure Examination in November 2019 with a passing rate of 98 percent.
The Professional Regulation Commission announced yesterday that 49 of its 50 graduates, passed the licensure examination.
Rhoderick Samonte, CHMSU director for External Affairs, said the state-run institution has again demonstrated its commitment to excellence with the recent result of the licensure exam.
“There is no way for us to go but to continuously excel now that we are on the road to becoming a state university. We cannot achieve this without the strong level of commitment of our faculty, staff and administration,” he said.
He said the school will reach out to the lone graduate who didn’t make the list “to provide all the necessary support to succeed.”
Meanwhile, other top performing schools in the licensure exam were the University of the Philippines-Los Baños with 96.92 percent, Bohol Island State University with 96.15 percent, UP-Diliman with 94.21 percent, University of Pangasinan with 83.33 percent, University of Santo Tomas with 81.86 percent and Central Philippine University with 80 percent.
The PRC said, 6,510 out of 15,075 passed in the November licensure exam given in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
Topping the civil engineer licensure exam was Lou Mevin Mahilum of University of San Carlos with a passing grade of 93.25 percent.*
