The arrest of the four fishermen yielded 250 kilos of “tabagak” a bottle filled with suspected ammonium nitrate, three improvised fishing spears, a compressor, an improvised tank and a motorized banca.

The four suspects are now in jail, while the recovered items are now in the custody of the PNP Maritime Command.

On the same day, six other persons were also arrested by the police for illegal fishing within the territorial waters of Brgy. Andolawan in Ilog town.

Nabbed were boat captain Richard Endo, Randy Villavicencio, Joseph Jordan, Michael Sumagaysay, Alan Capunong and Junmar Vellete.

The six fishermen were on board three fishing boats, when they were intercepted by the Bantay Dagat task force volunteers of Ioog, who were conducting seaborne patrol along the territorial waters of the town.*
