Herman Santos beat Raymund Livioco, 184-165, in the final round to rule the men’s singles while Ruby Barbosa outplayed Antonette Garcia, 188-181, reigned the women’s category of the Double Masters Tenpin Cup held recently in Bacolod City.
Architect Glenn De Guzman settled for the second runner-up honors while Reinhart Bullos placed third runner-up in the men’s singles. Completing the top four winners in women’s singles were STAI Youth Nicole Agujo (second runner-up) and VMC CEO Minnie Chua (third runner-up).
The Double team event was an epic battle between seniors and youth.
The championship was bagged by Youth tandem Alyana Abelada and James Gasapo, who stomped out their coach Ariel Yelo and Jeff Lee, 422-344.
Second runner-up were Dr. Larine Vencer and Banker Dodo Figueroa, while third runner-up were Carmelo Alimon Sr. and Vir Arcolas .
Karl Barbosa, who scored 250 pinfalls, bagged the men’s highest single award while Antonette Garcia posted 232 pinfalls to receive the women’s highest single award.
Highest qualifiers were James Gasapo of STAI Youth and Andrea Alvizo, who finished with 1,270 and 1,218 pin falls, respectively.
Dr. Larnie Vencer and nanker Dodo Figueroa grabbed the highest double team score and top double team qualifier awards.
A total of P 55,000 worth of prizes were given by the organizers.
The tournament drew participation from 50 bowlers.
The tournament was organized by the Monday Club Bowlers of Bacolod for the benefit of bowlers and their dependents undergoing chemotherapy or dialysis treatment.*
