Ceres to play minus 5 key players
in Copa final against Kaya Iloilo

 

Ceres-Negros FC will gun for their first Copa PaulinoAlcantara title this Saturday against defending champions Kaya – Iloilo FC without team captain Stephan Schrock and four other key players.

Shrock, along with Mike Ott, OJ Porteria, Carlie De Murga, and Sean Kane will join the Philippine Azkals this FIFA International window when they face Maldives and Syria on November 14 and November 19, respectively.

The five Busmen were called up to represent the Philippines in the World Cup Qualifiers from November 11-19 this month.

The national team traveled to Male yesterday and will move on to Dubai, UAE on the 15th. The Philippines are currently third in Group A with 4 points trailing leaders Syria with 9 and China with 7 points.

Ceres advanced to the Copa final Sunday after a 4-3 come-from-behind win against Stallion Laguna in the semi-finals at the Binan Football Stadium.Schrock and Ott scored a brace for the Busmen while Edris-Nasser Najim, Abou Sy, and Jan Melliza scored one apiece for Stallion.

Kaya – Iloilo, on the other hand, returned to the final after a 3-0 win Sunday over Mendiola FC at the Abotiz Pitch in Lipa City, Batangas.

Kenshiro Daniels, Masanari Omura and Darryl Roberts scored the goals for Kaya in the second half to get the chance to defend their Copa crown against league champions, Ceres-Negros FC.*
