Padre Pio’s relics

Private veneration of the relics of St. Pio of Pietrelcina was held in the home of the late Joe and Ramon Ramos.

The relics were accompanied by the official custodian and guardian, Fr. Gianmaria DiGiorgio of the St. Pio of Pietrelcina, San Giovanni, Rotondo in Italy. Fr. Gianmaria accepted the invitation of Lilibeth Ramos to bring the relics closer to the people.

More than 400 people were welcomed by the family to their humble home to venerate the relics. It was such a blessed and spiritual experience. The Ramos family members are devotees of St. Pio and they strongly believe that he is a great intercessor.

Fr. Gianmaria was one of the sacristans of Padre Pio. He was accompanied by the St. Pio volunteers from Manila when he visited Bacolod. The relics included the saint’s strands of hair, gloves, gauze with blood, scabs from his stigmata wounds, and a nail that came off when he was exhumed 40 years ago.

It was really a blessing that we got the chance to venerate the relics. Fr. Gianmaria’s message is to pray the rosary always, just like St. Pio.*
