BY MARCHEL P. ESPINA

Some parts of Negros Occidental will experience a 12-hour power interruption tomorrow, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, in an advisory yesterday, said it is scheduling a power service interruption to Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc.’s Sum-ag, Lag-asan, and Alijis substations.

The NGCP will conduct preventive maintenance activities. It added that Ceneco will take advantage of this downtime to implement simultaneous maintenance activities as well.

Areas to be affected by the outage are Purok Manayaosayao, Canlaon View Subdivision, Tanduay, Proper Blumintritt, Marian Missionaries, Hda. Josefa II, Hda. Olive 2, Hda. Jovelanos, Binitin, Candongon, Cansilayan, Murcia, and Salvador Benedicto.

Also to be affected are Brgy. Lopez Jaena to Mambucal, Hda. Mala, Co Salazar, Brgy. Alegria, Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Central Philippine Adventist College, Country Homes, Firmville, Iglau-an, Talotog, Buenavista, Salvacion, Caliban.

Electric consumers are advised to turn off their appliances during the power interruption for safety reasons, and provide an allowance of 10 to 15 minutes, before switching on electrical appliances and facilities to avoid a power surge when resumes.*
