Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo was re-elected for a second term with an 18,946 winning margin against William Ablong in Monday’s election.
There are 89,193 registered voters and only 64,959 actually voted with an average of 72.83 percent voters’ turnout.
Remollo garnered 39,380 while his challenger got 20,434 votes.
He was proclaimed by Commission on Elections officer Juvenal Tuale at 2:30 a.m. yesterday as the winner in the mayoral race along with the winning vice mayor and councilors.
Vice Mayor–elect Alan Cordova won against incumbent VM Franklin Esmena Jr. with a slight margin of 2,454 votes. In the final count, Cordova posted 29,345 while Esmena got 26,891 votes.
The Comelec also proclaimed the 10 winning councilors: Karissa Tolentino-Maxino with 37,165 votes, Manuel Sagarbarria - 35,553, Joe Kenneth Arbas - 34,985, Michael Bandal - 32,511, Edgar Lentorio - 30,744, Agustin Miguel Perdices - 28,824, Bernice Anne Elmaco - 27,839, Lilani Ramon - 26,474, Nelson Patrimonio - 25,796, and Roselle Erames - 24,865.*
