Neg. Occ. research site
for multi-purpose seeder

Negros Occidental was among the sites chosen for a demonstration of a tractor mounted multi-purpose seeder that will address the high production cost in rice farming, Provincial Agriculturist Japhet Masculino said yesterday.

Masculino recently attended the Multi-Purpose Seeder Project Planning Meeting for regions 5, 6, and 12, organized by the Philippine Rice Research Institute, and held at its central experiment station in Nueva Ecija.

He said the agency identified the research areas for multi-crop seeder in the three regions. For Western Visayas, Negros Occidental, Antique and Iloilo were the chosen localities, he added.
