The police have seized PHP 523,000 in shabu and nabbed seven suspects in Negros Occidental and Oriental.
Seized from five drug suspects, who were arrested separately in Negros Occidental, Thursday and Friday was P285,000 worth of suspected shabu.
A buy-bust operation in Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, yesterday led to the arrest of a drug suspect identified by the police as Richard Tantua, who is considered by Senior Inspector Rhojn Darell Nigos as a high value target in their anti-drug campaign.
The arrest of Tantua, 29, yielded an estimated 10 grams of suspected shabu, with a street market value of P110,000, a cellular phone and P1,000 in marked money.
A day earlier, another drug suspect identified as Edison Paguntalan was also apprehended by the police, in Purok Casino also in Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra.
The apprehension of Paguntalan, 35, yielded about six grams of suspected shabu, with a street market value of P60,000, P500 in marked money and a cellular phone.
An estimated P75,000 worth of suspected shabu was also recovered by the police from Eduardo Bigbig, who was arrested by the police on Thursday in Sitio Dapdap, Brgy. Lantad, Silay City.
The police also seized assorted shabu paraphernalia, P500 in marked money, P370 in cash and Samsung cellular phone from Bigbig, who is now in jail.
Two more drug suspects, identified as John Sennon and Deonil Mahilum were also apprehended for similar offenses in Brgy. Vito in Sagay City, and Brgy. Mabini in Escalante City.
The arrest of Sennon yielded five sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money, while six sachets of alleged shabu and P500 in marked money, were also recovered by the police from Mahilum.* GPB
Meanwhile, Anti-illegal drug operatives arrested two newly-identified drug pushers and seized PHP238,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cadawinonan in Dumaguete City Thursday.
Arrested were Rafael Tapales Miranda, 18; and Erondel CardenioTumaroy, 27; both residents of the barangay.
City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) operatives of the Dumaguete Police, led by Capt. Vann Joel Tingson, arrested the suspects after they allegedly sold suspected shabu to an undercover operative at around 10:30 p.m. at Block 10 in the city.
The police confiscated several elongated plastic sachets containing suspected shabu powder/granules, a pair of eyeglasses, a PHP500 marked bill used in the buy-bust operation, and a pouch with P1,820 cash.
The alleged shabu had an estimated total weight of 35 grams, valued at P238,000, police said.
The suspects are now detained and charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being readied against them.*GPB/PNA
