3 get life sentences
for P200 shabu sale

Three Bacolod residents were sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday for selling shabu to police poseur buyers for P200.

Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 Judge Raymond Joseph Javier, in two decisions, sentenced Ramon Plona Cuison, alias Caloy, Roger Buenafe Danoso, and Richard dela Rosa Gallenero to life imprisonment and to pay fines of P500,000 each.

They were found guilty for the sale of shabu in violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. moremoremore


Sagay annual growth 18%

SAGAY CITY – Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. said his home city has come a long way due to its bullish economy.

Marañon, who led the opening rites of the 23rd Sinigayan Festival here yesterday, said the annual growth rate of Sagay is more than 18 percent.

“When I entered politics more than 50 years ago, the municipality of Sagay had a budget of less than P1 million, around P900,000. But now, the smallest barangay in Sagay already has a P1 million budget,” the governor said. moremoremore

Sagay’s agriculture, animals
featured in Sinigayan exhibit

SAGAY CITY – The ongoing 23rd Sinigayan Festival here is showcasing the city’s agriculture and animal industries in its festival villages to boost efforts of the local government in sustainable development.

Among the trade fairs highlighted in the festival, that kicked off yesterday, were the Agro-Aqua Festival Village and the Livestock and Poultry Exhibit.

In the Agro-Aqua fair, the city’s 25 barangays displayed their products from both land and sea.
