DAR Negros eyes distribution
of 5,100 hectares this year

The Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Occidental 2 looks to distribute around 5,100 hectares of acquired lands in the southern part of the province this year.

Teresita Mabunay, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program officer of DAR Negros Occidental 2, said in a press conference yesterday that they are doing their best to attain their target this 2019.

Of the figure, 1,160 hectares already have Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) and were registered at the Register of Deeds, she said, adding, “We have not yet distributed the lands, but once the landholdings are released by the Register of Deeds, we will initiate the distribution of CLOAs and install the agrarian reform beneficiaries on their awarded lands.”
