Silver Dragon trounces Sweet Crystals
to extend win streak in Fil-Sino Class B

 

Silver Dragon Transport registered its eight straight win with a rout over Sweet Crystals Sugar, 80-57, while Organic Solutions defeated Royal Star Trading, 72-62, in the latest Class B match-up of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Basketball at Bacolod Tay Tung Po Hang Gym.

Led by Micmic Germudo and Edward Uy, Silver Dragon Transport displayed their fastbreak attacks in the opening quarter to take a 22-8 lead.

Sweet Crystals Sugar produced their best quarter behind Ghill Malimbag and Jolly Castillo in the second quarter but Ton Ton Chua knocked down three triples for Silver Dragon and Jomi Montinola scored eight points.

Silver Dragon continued their second half domination and outscored Sweet Crystals to seal the win.

Chua had a game-high 17 points while Montinola tallied 16 and Uy drilled 12 points.

Pao Pao Lim lead Sweet Crystals with 11 points.

Meanwhile, Organic Solutions notched its second victory at the expense of Royal Star Trading.

Organic Solutons overcame an early 16-10 deficit in the first quarter and outscored Royal Star Trading 42-24 in the next two quarters to improve their chances for a semi-finals slot.

Leonard Kilayko led Organic Solutions with 19 points while Brian Tan shot 11 and Noriel Bermudez made 10 points.

Royal Star Trading was spearheaded by Aaron Arroyo ,Tubby Villanueva and Jason Yap with 12 points each.

In the other game, Huminova Tigers trounced JSY Countertrade, 95-82, in Class A tussle.

Huminova Tigers produced a tournament-high 40 points in the first quarter against the 16-point production of JSY Countertrade.

Picking up pace in the second canto, JSY Countertrade returned the complement as Carl Ginete knocked down four triples and Arnol Laureño added 12 points to cut the deficit to 52-49 at the break.

The Tigers remained ahead in the second half with Andy Tio , Mar Macainan and DK Equipaje leading the way en route to victory.

Miagao finished with 25 points and Tio added 23 markers while Dionela made 16 points and Macainan scored 13.

Laureño led JSY Countertrade with 19 points.*
