At 40 years old, Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao continues to make history in the international boxing stage after outpointing Keith Thurman yesterday to claim the World Boxing Association super welterweight belt at MGM Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was another milestone to the colourful and highly successful boxing career of Pacquiao, who dethroned the erstwhile undefeated 30-year-old Thurman in a split decision – 115-112 from the two judges in favour of the Philippine senator and 114-113 in favour of the American champion.

A crowd of about 15,000 cheered Pacquiao on to victory at 8 public venues provided live feeds of the fight by the Bacolod City government, and thousands more at hotels, restaurants and homes. moremoremore
