SP okays appointment
of administrator, CLO

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod concurred in the appointments of John Orola and Joselito Bayatan as City Administrator and City Legal Officer of Bacolod City, respectively, during its regular session Wednesday.

Orola thanked Mayor Evelio Leonardia and the SP for the unanimous approval of his appointment.

He said the honeymoon period in the last three years is over. Now is the time to strictly implement the programs of the city.

“A public office is a public trust and we are expected to properly deliver the basic services to the people,” Orola said when asked for his reaction.

They also have to identify their priorities, which should be based on actual needs, and this includes housing, facilities, water, and electricity to be able to put up adequate housing facilities and services, he said.

Also important is the provision of livelihood programs and skills training, as well as the implementation of environmental programs in order to keep the city clean and safe, and for the citizens to be healthy, he added.

Orola said they also plan to intensify health programs and implement programs involving sanitation and sewerage system, including the proper collection and disposal of garbage.*
