Maj. Gen. Pio Diñoso is back in the Visayas as commanding general of the Army’s 8th Infantry Division in Samar.
Dinoso, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1988, used to be assigned in southern Negros as 79th Infantry Battalion head. He later moved to Iloilo as commander of the 301st Infantry Brigade.
He was installed by Army chief Lt. Gen. Macairog Alberto in a ceremony held at Camp Vicente Lukban in Catbalogan, Samar.
Dinoso replaced Maj. Gen. Raul Farnacio, who bowed out from military service, after reaching the mandatory age retirement of 56.
