Silay theme park hiring
BY MARCHEL P. ESPINA

Aton Land and Leisure Inc., the company behind the P600-million MagikLand theme park in Silay City, will hold a recruitment activity on July 13 and July 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Silay City Civic Center.

Marivic Yao, managing director of Aton Land and Leisure Inc., in her letter to Silay City Mayor Mark Golez dated July 9, they will also conduct pre-opening training for 18 positions at the theme park.

These are ride operators, ride attendants, cashiers, sales and marketing coordinators, accounting staff, security officer, inventory/warehouse clerks, finance head, purchase order specialist, stockmen/stock assistant, digital marketing coordinator, maintenance crew, HR supervisor, drivers, gardeners, janitors, seamstress, and performers.

The letter also said that they prefer applicants who are from the Third District, composed of the cities of Silay, Talisay, and Victorias, and the municipalities of Murcia and E.B. Magalona.

Those interested may contact the Public Employment Service Office in Silay.

Meanwhile, the theme park is expected to open this year.

Among the attractions are the tallest Ferris wheel in the Visayas, roller-coasters, carousels, kiddie and family rides, thrill rides and go-karts, a haunted house, and arcade games.

The project is seen to steer economic development for the province, especially in tourism.

During the groundbreaking rites in 2017, Aton Land and Leisure Inc. president Reynaldo Bantug said the objective of building the theme park and other developments in the area is to contribute to the socio-economic growth of Negros through developing the tourism industry.*
