LOPTTA to hold BacoLaodiat
table tennis tourney Feb. 1-3

Table tennis players from different parts of the province are expected to see action in the 2019 Lopue’s-Bacolaodiat Table Tennis Invitational Championship slated Feb. 1-3 at LOPTTA playing center at Lopue’s San Sebastian Anex in Bacolod City.

Now on its 10th year, the annual tournament provides a venue for table tennis players, particularly those from Negros Island, to develop their skills.

Pioneered by LOPTTA president Leonito “Diotay” Lopue, the tournament has succeeded in tapping the talents of Negrense players and promote the sport in the province.

This year, over 188 players from different local government units in Negros Occidental, such as Toboso, Sagay, Cadiz, Silay, Talisay, Murcia, Bacolod, San Enrique, La Carlota, and Moises Padilla will participate in the tournament.

The event is in line with the celebration of the annual Chinese New Year in Bacolod City.

Aside from the year-round tournaments and summer clinic designed to help aspiring table tennis players, LOPTTA, under the leadership of Lopue, has produced world-class athletes who brought pride and honor to the country and province.*NAB
