MOA signed to boost skill
of teaching English online

A partnership to boost the skills of students and teachers in teaching English online to foreigners was inked yesterday by the executives of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College and the English as Foreign Language (EFL) company, 51Talk, at the CHMSC campus in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

51Talk country head Jennifer Que signed the memorandum of agreement with CHMSC Systems President Renato Sorolla, and the company aims to get 100,000 EFL teachers in the next five years.

Que said they chose to partner with CHMSC as 10 percent of their employees in Negros Occidental came from this school and are performing well.

Tour guiding tools
turned over in Sagay

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office turned over tour guiding equipment to two associations of Bantay Dagat in the island communities along the Sagay Marine Reserve in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, recently.

Tour guiding equipment were given to the Suyac Island Eco-Park Tourist Attendant Association (SIETAAS) and Molocaboc Island Reef Rangers Association (MIRRA), from Suyac and Molocaboc islands respectively, to promote sustainability of coastal and marine ecosystems, a press release said yesterday.

A memorandum of agreement was signed by Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon III with Vice Mayor Fortunato Javelosa, CENR Officer Rally Cagayanan, and PENRO Edgardo Rostata to turn over the equipment to the associations.
