Brig. Gen. Felicisimo Budiongan, a retired Army general, who had been assigned in Negros Occidental in 2006, has been appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as undersecretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Budiongan was the former commander of Task Force North and executive officer of the Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade.
The appointment Budiongan as DSWD undersecretary was signed by Duterte on January 23.
Budiongan served as assistant division commander of the Mechanized Infantry Division, before his retirement from the Armed Forces of the Philippines in November last year.
He joins the growing list of retired military officials appointed in government. Former AFP chief of staff General Rolando Bautista was appointed as DSWD secretary last year.*
