A vegetable vendor was shot dead while watching a billiard game at Crossing Sitio Mag-Abo, Brgy. Maluay in Zamboanguita, Negros Oriental, at about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Police identified the victim as Jay Mark Partosa, alias Jingay, 28, of the barangay.

The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office said Partosa was shot by three unidentified men, one wearing a bonnet and the two others wearing ball caps and face masks, and riding separate motorcycles.

Partosa was rushed to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City on board a police car but he was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Erwin Nervez at about 9 p.m.

The police recovered six empty shells and two fired slugs of a 45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.*
