Cuambot top chess festival

Stephen Coleta dominate the competition in the Open category, while Kenneth Ballo-allo was undefeated in the 16-Under group and Cuambot in the 10-Under division to claim the top honors in the Colegio de Sta. Ana de Victorias/Role Finance Festival of Chess Rapid Chess Tournament held at the Ayala Central Mall in Bacolod City.

Coleta tallied 5.5 (32 TB3) to win the championship in the Open category while Francis Glenn Panes placed second and Ted Ian Montoyo at third place.

In 16 and under division, Ballo-allo maintained a clean sheet by sweeping all seven assignments to be No. 1 while Jamelin Ruth Lim finished at second spot with 6 points (28.5 TB3) and Aliah Grace Belano with 6 points (26.5 TB3) to land at No. 3.

Absolute, Pag-ibig post win
in Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup

The Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup 2019 kicked off with a twinbill in Jan 19 at the Tay Tung Po Hang Gym with Absolute getting gpast Nestea, 83-71, and Pag-Ibig blasting Creamy Delight, 82-59, in the Class B division.

Absolute's Nikol Medina exploded for 15 points while Brian Coo backed him up with 13 for a 33-23 advantage in the first quarter.

In the second canto, Efraim Valencia, Yanyan Dy and Luigi Coo combined for 19 points for a 53-38 lead at halftime.
