Mayor breaks ground
for P10.7M hospital


Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a hospital in the City Farmstead, Barangay Talay, Dumaguete City, Monday.

Remollo said the new health facility will cater to the medical needs of residents in the underserved barangays of Talay, Junob, Balugo, Candau-ay, Cantil-e and Bajumpandan, and of Valencia and Bacong.

He said doctors, nurses, and midwives will be assigned in the new mini-hospital, while the city government will invest in its equipment and expansion.

Remollo lauded local officials and the Department of Health for the initial grant of P10.7 million for the hospital.

Present at the groundbreaking ceremony were Vice Mayor Franklin Esmeña Jr., councilors Lilani Ramon and Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, City Administrator Ricardo Gonzales Jr., Assistant City Administrator Dinno Depositario and other department heads.*
