Capitol wants work stepped up
on new pala-pala food terminal
BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

The fast-tracking of the completion of the of the P115 million Negros First Pala-Pala Food Terminal in Barangay 6, Bacolod City, will be sought, provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said yesterday.

Gelvolea said they are assessing what areas need to be completed and will write the Provincial Engineer’s Office to have these fast-tracked.

The food terminal is being constructed by Dynamic Builders and Construction Co. and is targeted for completion in the second quarter of 2019, she said.

“We want its completion hastened because we need it to begin operations, there are a lot of renters asking to reserve spaces but we cannot finalize rental fees until it is completed,” she said.

The food terminal is about 70 percent completed and, hopefully, can be operational before Gov. Alfredo Marañon’s term ends in June, she said.

The completion of the project was delayed because of a variation order from the Provincial Engineer’s Office, she said.*
