“For the first time in Club Football history, we are bringing the AFC Champions League Preliminary Stage in Negros Occidental. This is an opportune time to once again promote Negros-football and offer the best in our province,” Golez said in a letter sent to the media.

“We are humbly requesting for your continued support in making our hosting experience as exciting, entertaining and spirited for the people of our province and for our foreign visitors,” Golez’ letted added.

Meanwhile, Ceres players who joined the national team in their recent Asian Cup campaign in UAE are expected to re-join their teammates in time of the Feb. 5 showdown with Yangon Utd.

Making the nation proud of their Asian Cup debut, particularly during the match against powerhouse South Korea, the national team was bannered by veteran players including Stephan Schrock, Kevin Ingreso, Carli de Murga, Manny and Mike Ott, and Patrick Reichelt.

Schrock also made history for Philippine football after scoring the country’s first goal in the Asian Cup, during the Azkals 1-3 loss to Kyrgyzstan *
