Dumaguete employees
will undergo drug tests

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo said he will continue the conduct of drug testing on all employees at any time of the year.

The employees will be tested despite passing the drug test before hiring, and regardless of rank, age, and sex, he added.

Remollo said this is the only means to ensure that all drug users in the city government who need to be rehabilitated are identified and will receive appropriate intervention for their well-being while keeping the workplace drug-free.

Defiant workers will be subjected to disciplinary actions, including dismissal from the service, he said.

The city government has allocated a budget so no extra cost will be shouldered by the employees, he added.

Meanwhile, Remollo recently administered the oath of office to Jacqueline Antonio as full-fledged city tourism officer, Leonides Patrimonio-Caro as City Planning Development Coordinator, and Chilvier Patrimonio as chief of the Environment and Natural Resources Office.

The mayor approved their appointments with the concurrence of Councilor Lilani Ramon and Assistant City Administrator Dinno Depositario, in recognition of their industry and dedication to service.*
