P10.7M satellite hospital to rise
BY RENE GENOVE

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo will lead the groundbreaking ceremony for the P10.7 million satellite hospital at the City Farmstead in Barangay Talay, Dumaguete City, next week.

Remollo said the health facility will cater to the medical needs of residents in barangays Talay, Junob, Balugo, Candau-ay, Cantil-e, and Bajumpandan.

Meanwhile, workers have already demolished the wall that separates the portion of the multi-million-peso diversion road traversing Camanjac-Batinguel, and crossing Vida Royal, that will lead to the Candau-ay-Cadawinonan bridge going to the Dumaguete-Valencia road in Barangay Talay.

Remollo has been helping the Department of Public Works and Highways and contractor in negotiating with several lot owners to donate or sell portions of their properties for the diversion road.

After clearing the route, concreting works and widening will proceed. Disputes with owners of the lots to be traversed by the diversion road have delayed the full completion of the project.

Once completed, the new diversion road will help decongest traffic in the downtown area.*
