Please vote, Marilou urges
BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

Former Kasangga Rep. Ma. Lourdes “Marilou” Arroyo-Lesaca yesterday appealed to residents of the fifth district of Negros Occidental to cast their votes for her even if she is running unopposed.

Arroyo-Lesaca, who is running for congresswoman of the fifth district, said it is important that she has a strong mandate from the people that she can show to the President when she asks for projects and help for her district.

“I would like to really make a difference in the fifth district. I would like to finish my brother’s unfinished plans,” she said.

Her brother was the late Rep. Ignacio Arroyo Jr. of the 5 th District.

Arroyo-Lesaca yesterday accompanied her sister-in-law Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on her visit to Negros Occidental.

Arroyo called her a presumptive congresswoman since she is running unopposed.

“We’re very proud of her and we hope that she will be a successful congresswoman,” the former president said.*
