2 minors missing at sea

Two fishermen, both minors, who went fishing in the waters of Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, Thursday afternoon, were still missing up to last night.

Lt. Commander Ludovico Librilla, Philippine Coast Guard-Negros Occidental commander, said they were informed that brothers Roben, 17, and Romell, 15, both surnamed Palmera, failed to return home after their fishing venture at about 3 p.m. Thursday.

The PCG then conducted a search operation but have not found the brothers, Librilla said.

Only the damaged fishing boat of the victims was recovered in nearby town of Valladolid, Negros Occidental, Librilla said.

He said the incomplete parts of the boat showed that it may have capsized.

Librilla added that they have already coordinated with the fisherfolk and PCG substations in Hinigaran and Guimaras to report to them any information about the victims.*
