Two brothers were sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday for the sale of P500 worth of shabu to a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency intelligence officer.
Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 Judge, Raymond Joseph Javier, found Joseph and Erwin Balsomo Lo guilty beyond reasonable doubt for the sale of .0599 gram of shabu to a PDEA agent in Purok Lubi, Barangay 3, Bacolod City, on Oct. 16, 2014, in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Aside from being sentenced to life imprisonment, the brothers were also ordered to pay a fine of P500,000.
Erwin Lo was also found guilty of possession of 24 pieces of Diazepam, with a total weight of 4.5514 grams , a dangerous drug, and sentenced to imprisonment of 12 years and 8 months, as minimum to 17 years and 8 months as maximum, andto pay a fined of P300,000 for it.
Joseph Lo was also found guilty of possession of .5872 gram of shabu and sentenced to imprisonment of 12 years and 8 months, as minimum to 17 years and 8 months as maximum, andto pay a fined of P300,000.
The jail warden of the Metro Bacolod District Jail was ordered to immediately transfer the brothers to the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City.
In three other decisions, the judge found Wilbert Poblacion Dela Cruz Cruz, Viacendo Barbosa and Ma. Fe Decena not guilty and ordered their release from jail unless detained for some other lawful cause.*
