Chess festival at
Ayala Malls tomorrow

 

A one-day chess festival will be staged tomorrow at the 4th floor Metro Lobby of Ayala Malls Capitol Central.

The event, dubbed as the Sta. Ana/Role Finance Festival of Chess, will feature the 10 & Under, 16 & Under, and the Open Rapid Chess competition.

The tournament adopts the 7 Rounds Swiss System on 20 minutes +5 seconds increment.

Champion for the Open category will receive P5,000 while P3,000 each for the winners of the 10 & Under, and 16 & Under divisions.

Trophies and medals await the winners in all age categories.

For the Open category, second and third placers will receive trophies, medals and P4,000 and P3,000 cash, respectively.

Fourth and 5th placers will get P2,000 and P1,000 plus medals, while 6th to 10th placers get a medal and P500 each.

In the 16 & Under and 10 & Under categories, first and second runner-up will receive P2,000 and P1,000 each along with trophies and medals. Fourth and fifth placers will get P800 and P600 each, including medals, while 6th to 10th placers will receive P500 each and medals.

Special awards will also be given to the best 6 years old & below player, 8 years old & below, best 12 years old & below, and 3 best lady performers.

A registration fee of P200 will be collected in the Open category and P150 for the 16 & Under and 10 & Under categories.*NAB
