caught in shabu bust
BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

A suspected drug peddler was arrested yesterday for violation of the Comelec gun ban, as well as two others during a series of buy-bust operations in Negros Occidental, the police said.

A buy-bust operation on Sunday in Brgy. Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, led to the arrest of a suspected drug peddler identified by the police as Perlito Maguate Sico Jr.

The apprehension of Sico, 28, a newly-identified alleged drug personality, yielded two sachets of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money and a .38 caliber revolver with ammunition.

Another buy-bust operation by the police in Brgy. Guinhalaran, Silay City, also led to the arrest of Joebert Guitche and the recovery of an estimated four grams of suspected shabu worth P60,000 yesterday.

The police also recovered P500 in marked money, a cellular phone and P14.60 in cash from the arrested suspect.

Three grams of suspected shabu, estimated to have a market value of P35,000, and P500 in marked money were also recovered by the police during the arrest of Mageoles Salhay in Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

All the three suspects are now locked up in jail.*
