BCPO caretaker to go after drugs

Senior Supt. Henry Biñas, the new officer-in-charge of the Bacolod City Police Office, said yesterday that he will continue to implement the good programs of his predecessor, Senior Supt. Francisco Ebreo, such as the intensified police visibility and campaign against illegal drugs in Bacolod.

The new caretaker of BCPO also said that he will also look into the personnel, especially the anti-drug operatives, and recommend their relief if needed.

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said that every time there is a new police OIC, the campaign versus illegal drugs is what he wants them to focus on.

“That is the problem in the whole country and we know that we have a President who is passionate about this concern”, Leonardia said.

Biñas was formerly the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office director and Iloilo City Police Office chief, before he was appointed head of the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Development Division.

He is currently handling both the RPHRDD and BCPO.

Biñas was appointed after President Rodrigo Duterte announced Saturday night that he was firing Ebreo.

Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, Police Regional Office-6 director, has said that the appointment of Biñas as caretaker of BCPO is temporary while the PRO-6 is waiting for an officer from Camp Crame.*
