SP okays 21 ordinances,
1,168 resolutions in 2018

 

The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved 21 ordinances and 1,168 resolutions in 2018, SP records show.

Among those approved in January were Ordinance No.001 or the Provincial Code that pursues a public-private partnership for the people (P4) approach towards development, and Ordinance No. 002 establishing the Negros First Animal Hub at Panaad Park and Stadium in Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Records also show that on September 5, the SP also approved the P4 agreement between the provincial government and Dynamic Builders and Construction Co., for the firm’s lease of 6,485 square meters of provincial government property where the Provincial Administration Center is located in Bacolod City.

The SP also approved Ordinance No.17 on October 17, 2018 that created the Provincial AIDS Council of Negros Occidental.

Ordinance No. 18 that was okayed on October 24 also authorized Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., to loan P1.2 billion from the Land Bank of the Philippines.

Of the P1.2 billion, P900 million is set for the construction of the new Provincial Administration Center, P125 million for the upgrading of the Eleuterio Decena Memorial District Hospital in Hinobaan town, P175 million for the acquisition of furniture, facilities and equipment for the Mambukal Convention Hotel and Tourist Lodge, Negros First Hotel and the Negros First Pala Pala and Food Terminal.

On November 27, the SP passed Ordinance No.020, adopting the official seal of the provincial of the Negros Occidental.
