Guv backs 4 senate bets

Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said yesterday he is personally endorsing four senatorial candidates in the May polls, whom he believes have served the country well and helped Negros Occidental.

They are incumbent senators Cynthia Villar, Edgardo “Sonny” Angara and Grace Poe, and former senator Mar Roxas, he said.

But his list could increase with the elections several months away yet, he said.

The governor said he has not decided on a partylist group to support yet and is only endorsing one candidate in Bacolod City, mayoral bet Jocelle Batapa Sigue.*
