EDC gets gold rank

Geothermal leader, Energy Development Corporation, was awarded the gold rank in the Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating 2018 in Bandar Lampung, Sumatra, Indonesia recently, its press release said.

Conglomerate First Philippine Holdings was awarded the platinum rank, while its subsidiary, First Gen Corporation, bagged the silver rank. These Lopez Group companies earned the big wins at the recent ASR Rating 2018, held by the National Center for Sustainability Reporting, in collaboration with the Institute of Certified Sustainability Practitioners.

The gold and silver ranks are awarded based on GRI Standards, while the platinum rank is awarded based on GRI Standards, disclosure on GHG emissions and energy, the SDG Compass, and as assured by a third party, the press release said.

The ASR Rating (formerly the Sustainability Reporting Awards) is conferred to companies that have successfully communicated their sustainability performance to stakeholders through sustainability reports.

EDC is the world's largest vertically integrated geothermal company and the only diversified renewable energy firm in the country. It has been powering infinite possibilities in Negros Oriental for over 35 years now by harnessing geothermal energy, the only form of RE that can provide sustainable power 24 hours a day, rain or shine, all year round, the press release added.*
