BY GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The Hugpong Pagbabago senatorial candidates led by presidential daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, are also coming to Negros Occidental.

Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said the Hugpong senatorial candidates are expected to visit the province by the end of March.

Rep. Alfredo Benitez is among those preparing for the arrival of PDP-Laban senatorial bets and President Rodrigo Duterte on March 8, Lacson also said that former Kasangga party-list Rep. Ma. Lourdes Arroyo is taking charge of the visit of Hugpong senatorial candidates.

Included in the list of Hugpong senatorial bets are S enators Sonny Angara, Cynthia Villar, Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, and Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito; Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos; former presidential assistant Bong Go; former Senators Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada and Bong Revilla; Taguig City -Pateros 2nd district Rep. Pia Cayetano; former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald dela Rosa; Maguindanao Rep. Lacson, however, said that Love-Negros may not come up with 12 senatorial candidates to support, as they will allow their members to select their own bets.

Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. who chairs the United Negros Alliance, earlier said that he will support the senatorial bids of Mar Roxas and Bong Go, as well as re-electionists Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar and Sonny Angara, who are also being supported by presumptive Negros Occidental Vice. Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer.

The PDP Laban senatorial candidates are Pimentel, dela Rosa, Ejercito, Go, Maguindanao Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu and Tolentino, while the guest candidates are Angara, Ejercito, Villar, former DILG secretary Rafael Alunan, folk singer Freddie Aguilar, Cayetano and Marcos.*
