CCTV captures Yao slay
BY SHIELA G. GELERA

Closed-circuit television camera footage captured the assassination of Bacolod businessman Alex Yao that took barely 10 seconds at the compound of the Redemptorist Church in Bacolod City on February 19.

The CCTV footage shows a young girl, who probably was begging for alms, scampering away from a white Mercedez Benz as a gunman approaches and fires several times into the window of the driver’s seat where Alex was seated.

The gunman then briskly walks towards a waiting motorcycle parked at the rear of the Mercedez Benz and they drive off. moremoremore

DAR North installs
109 ARBs in Cadiz
BY MAX N. MACAHILO

The Department of Agrarian Reform-North recently installed 109 farmers of Brgy. Mabini in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, with assistance from the 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army and of the Philippine National Police.

The new agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) were installed in the landholdings previously owned by Bernadette Gustillo, covering a total land area of 44.6447 hectares, with Title number 26260 and Lot number 1-B, PSD-06-086526.

DAR Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Jessan Saquian, who led in the installation, said the installation ceremony is proof of another victory for the department and the people. The Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) is indeed a program mandated by the government as a way to improve the lives of its beneficiaries, she added.
