Assassins kill ‘leader’
of drug group in north

The alleged leader of the Manguntawar Drug Group operating in northern Negros Occidental was gunned down by assassins riding in tandem on a motorcycle in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, 5 p.m. yesterday, Supt. John Bulalacao, Western Visayas regional police director, said last night.
Ben Manguntawar, identified as a Muslim drug leader, was shot by the riding in tandem suspects in front of his residence, Bulalacao said.
Yao not in regional watchlist: PNP

Slain businessman Alex Yao is not in the drugs watchlist of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, Supt. Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson, said yesterday.
“In the regional level we have no record here, but as to other agencies if they have validation or not, we have no idea because there are some documents that are operational matters that we are not allowed to disclose,” Malong said.Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, Western Visayas police regional director, said that Yao’s link to drugs is yet to be validated as he has not seen the list yet.
Cenpri among top real estate
taxpayer awardees in Bago
The power service provider to Ceneco, the Central Negros Power Reliability Inc (Cenpri), was among the top real estate taxpayer awardees of Bago City during its 53rd charter anniversary celebration, a press release from the company said.
The award was given during the 12th Gawad Bagonhon awarding ceremony at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center in Bago City Monday.The other awardees for real property taxes are Distileria Bago Inc., Philippine Beverage Inc., Donato C. Cruz Trading, and Yusay Realty Development and 15 other corporations and individual taxpayers. Bago City also gave recognition to business taxpayers Distileria Bago, M&J Fabrication, Linde Philippines, Makran Trading, Krushrock Corp. and five other corporations.
