A 36-year-old mother and a 26-year-old Bacoleño were sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday for the sale of drugs.
Judge Raymond Joseph Javier of Bacolod Regional Trial Court Branch 52 found Juvy Flores Dacumos, alias “Tata,” and Neptali Jabonilo Ticar guilty beyond reasonable doubt for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Dacumos was found guilty for the sale of .015 gram of shabu for P500 to a police poseur buyer at her house in Purok Sigay, Barangay 2, Bacolod City, on July 5, 2012.
She vehemently denied the accusation against her, but the judge ruled that her denial was unsupported by clear and convincing evidence.
The judge ordered her to pay a fine of P500,000 and to be immediately transferred to the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila, for the service of her life sentence.
Ticar was charged for the sale of 16.086 grams of marijuana to a police poseur buyer for P500, at the BBB Foodpark at AB Parreño Street in Barangay 20, Bacolod, on Sept. 15,2014.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of P500,000 and to immediately be transferred to the National Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa to serve his life sentence.
Ticar was also found guilty of possession 30.407 grams of marijuana and sentenced to 12 years and 8 months as minimum, to 17 years and 8 months as maximum imprisonment, and to pay a fine of P300,000.
His companion Christian Cuenca Macauling was found not guilty of the charge for possession of 1.607 grams of marijuana for failure to prove his guilt beyond reasonable doubts.*
