Bacolod SP ratifies
P165M IPM contract

The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod ratified Wednesday the contract of services between the City of Bacolod and IPM Construction and Development Corp. for environmental and sanitary services (collection/hauling and disposal of garbage) from March 1 to December 31 amounting to P165 million.

Councilor Claudio Puentevella still voted in the negative while 12 councilors present voted in the affirmative. Councilor Ricardo Tan was absent during the session.

Puentevella also voted against the approval of the contract of services between the city and IPM-CDC during the session last week.

IPM-CDC was the lone bidder in the bidding conducted by the Bids and Awards Committee.

Councilor Caesar Distrito had said they find this even cheaper than the previous contractor because it will cost the city only about P17 million a month compared to that of the previous contractor that was P30 million a month.*
