Team Y paces YBAC 1st Conference

 

Team Y secured its third win in four outings to grab the lead in the 2019 1 st Conference of the Yours Basketball Athletic Club at the STI-West Negros gym in Bacolod City.

Piloted by Toto Soquina, Team Y took its second straight victory by defeating Roy Visitacion led C-Team, 80-72.

Team C started the first quarter with a three-point advantage, 16-13, however the winning team retaliated with a 25-15 bombed to wrest the lead after the first half of play.

The two squads exchanged good shots in the second half, but Team Y prevailed in the final canto with an 80-72 triumph.

Joemarie Lipa and Peding Rosales sank 16 and 13 points each to give Team Y its 3-1 win-loss card.

Jorge de los Reyes Jr., Arvin Gustilo and Cocoy Pendon combined for 32 points to compliment the losing cause of C-Team.

A-Team of Romy Sabolboro on the other hand, woke up from sleep to post its first victory in four games against Sonny Pettiere-led B-Team, 99-83.

Sabolboro’s group played consistently in the first three quarters leading by as much as 24 points, 74-50.

At the start of the final quarter, Pettiere and his wards tried to come from behind with a series of good baskets, but to avail as A-Team did their best to defend their ground with a 99-83 win.

With the loss, B-Team slid to 2-2 win-loss slate.

Narsing Galang fired 16 markers to lead his team in scoring, while Emil Guanzon, Buddy Eufre banged in 14 points each. Edwin Fregil joined them in double figures with 10.

It was Rhomar De La Rosa who top scored for B-Team with 23 caroms.*HLG
