The Sangguniang Panlungsod approved recently an additional appropriation of P28.7 million to fund the infrastructure projects of the seven barangays in Dumaguete City, including roads and drainage canals.
These include the continued construction of open drainage canal from the existing canal at Purok Makugihon worth P208,000, continued concreting of Cantil-e-Isugan Road - P1.7 million, and concreting of Talay-Cantil-e road from existing PCP going north - P4.9 million in Barangay Cantil-e, and construction of drainage canal in Barangay Bajumpandan worth P415,000;
Rehabilitation of drainage system at Umbac Subdivision to Lozada residence at P315,000 in Barangay Calindagan, construction of drainage slab cover along Silliman Avenue Extension for P70,000, concreting of George Sy Street with covered drainage canal on both sides, worth P1.3 million, in Barangay Taclobo;
Concreting of the Dumaguete, Balugo and Cadawinonan Road near Buling’s residence up to Yap’s compound - P7 million, continuance of road concreting in Purok Star Apple to Casa Miani - P1.7 million, road concreting in front of Songsil Agapia International School in Barangay Cadawinonan - P1.5 million, and opening and concreting of road connecting E.J. Blanco Drive back of City Mall at P1.6 million in Barangay Daro.
These projects were first approved by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo through the requests of concerned punong barangays.*
