Ceres rekindles rivalry with Yangon Utd

Ceres-Negros will face familiar opponent Yangon United FC when the two squads face off tonight in the knockout match of the AFC Champions League Preliminaries at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

Kickoff is scheduled at 7 p.m.

The Busmen and the visiting Lions from Myanmar met for the first time last year in the semi-finals of the ASEAN Zone of the AFC Cup, where Ceres prevailed 6.5 in aggregate over two legs.

Tanate, Manzanares lead winners
in Lopue’s-BacoLaodiat table tennis

Micah Tanate captured the title in women’s open event while Janley Manzanares dominated the men’s open competition to lead the winners in this year’s edition of the Lopue’s-Bacolaodiat Invitational Table Tennis Championship held during the weekend at the Lopue’s San Sebastian Annex in Bacolod City.

Tanate beat Mariella Macquiao in the finals to bag the championship while Gems Gellang settled for the second runner-up honors.

Manzanares was in his finest form in the men’s competition as he beat James Saligumba to win the gold medal while Cris Lester Rejon secured the bronze.
