Olivia open to talks
but wants sincerity
BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

Olivia Yanson is open for peace talks with her eldest son but he should show his sincerity by agreeing to sign over her shares of stocks in the Yanson Group of Bus Companies, or, at the very least, her voting rights, lawyer Norman Golez said yesterday.

Roy Yanson on Monday called for an end to their family feud.

“Let us meet and sit down as one family. Let us set our differences behind us and talk. Let us forgive each other,” he said in an appeal to his mother and his five siblings. moremoremore

SSS exec: P342.8M collectibles
from 3K employers in Negros
BY MARCHEL P. ESPINA

The Social Security System is expecting around P342.8 million collectibles from unpaid premium remittances of 3,375 employers in Negros Island, who have not remitted their employees’ contributions.

Helen Solito, SSS senior vice president for Visayas, yesterday urged the employers to avail of the Contribution Penalty Condonation program to settle the unremitted employees’ contributions. The program is only until September 6.

“Only a few employers in Negros Island have availed of this program,” she said. She added that they are strengthening their information campaign about the program, where employers can settle their unpaid SSS premiums without paying the accumulated penalties.
